"Part of the reason why poverty still persists in our continent is governments inability to work in a bi-partisan manner with the opposition to confront the many problems facing us as a continent. In almost all the advanced democracies a government in power works or listens to the opposition in matters of national importance such as education, defence, energy and the economy. However in Africa such matters are always hijacked by the ruling government to the detriment of the nation and its people". Lord Aikins Adusei

Omar Bongo Rehearsing What to tell God

If in deed there is life after death and if in deed there is punishment for those who do wrong then there is no doubt Omar Bongo is rehearsing what to tell God about how he came to amass so much wealth while tens of thousands of his people live on less than $2 a day.

He is actually strategising and thinking about what he will say in his defence should Allah asks him about what happened to the billions of oil money that He Allah gave to the people of Gabon. Bongo has requsted for a lawyer but he has been told that he has to represent himself which he is finding it very difficult to do. He wished he had not stolen from the poor people and abused the trust the people imposed in him.

One by one all the dictators in Africa and their cronies will appear before the judgement throne of God/Allah, the maker of this planet to answer how they used the resources He God/Allah gave to the people. What do you think Bongo will say in his defence?

I think Bongo will say he did not know the money was meant for the people. He will plead guilty and ask for God's leniency.

Please do not prejudice the position of Bongo. His case is still before God. Refrain from commenting on a subject which is still before Allah. It may prejudice his chances of receiving a fair hearing. Thank you.
